Description :
Our Catholic elementary and middle school is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to
serve as our campus minister and middle school religion teacher. This position plays a crucial
role in fostering the spiritual development of our students and creating a vibrant Catholic
community within our school, which is owned and operated by the Sisters of the Congregation
of Notre Dame (CND).
Responsibilities:
– Lead and coordinate school-wide liturgical celebrations, prayer services, and other
celebrations/activities
– Provide spiritual guidance and support to students, faculty, and staff
– Coordinate sacraments with the students and their parishes
– Teach four sections of middle school religion classes and facilitate discussions on Catholic
teachings and values
– Coordinate service projects and opportunities for students to live out their faith through acts of
charity and social justice
– Collaborate with school administration, parents, and school community to promote a strong
Catholic identity within the school
– Serve as a homeroom teacher to one of our grade six classes, and fulfill those obligations
including, but not limited to, attendance, report cards, parent-teacher conferences
Qualifications:
– NYS teaching certification
– Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
– Archdiocese of NY Levels I and II Catechist Certification
– Eucharistic Minister or willingness to become one
– Previous experience in campus ministry, religious education, or pastoral ministry a plus
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse community of students, parents, and colleagues
– Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
