Job Description Summary

Epiphany Parish is a thriving community in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin committed to inviting, including and serving our parish and beyond. This role will focus on Catechesis, Evangelization and Discipleship with the focus on young families and sacrament preparation in a comprehensive manner. This includes the following elements: catechesis, formation, sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and First Reconciliation, OCIC, preparation and celebrations.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Collaborates with Faith formation team, staff and consultative bodies in implementing the mission of the parish.
  • Coordinates evangelization and discipleship efforts for the parish in the area of young family formation.
  • Assures the development and implementation of sacramental preparation programs, experiences and activities that foster spiritual formation and growth. This should include but not be limited to parent meetings, retreats, curriculum development, social activity, community building opportunities.
  • Recruits, trains, empowers and supervises catechists, volunteers and other personnel for sacramental preparation. Collaborate with Sacred Hearts School staff on sacramental preparation and celebrations.
  • Assures the development of programs and activities that foster spiritual formation for families in the early stages of Catholic parenthood.
  • Coordinates efforts to identify and involve young families in the life of the faith community.
  • Serves as staff to parish core team or council
  • Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required for this ministry through regular updating, reading, participation in workshops and conventions. Participate in local, regional, and national professional organizations as approved and appropriate.

Required Education and Experience

Experience in event planning and coordinating, communication tools and working understanding of Catholic theology, Ecclesiology and Sacramental theology.

Preferred experience with Sacramental preparation.

 Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Required Competencies

  • Demonstrated understanding, respect and support of the Catholic Church’s teaching, mission and values.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work effectively and efficiently, including developing and maintaining effective record keeping systems.

Job Description

Summary/Objective:

To implement Epiphany Parish’s commitment to youth ministry in a comprehensive manner. This includes the following elements: catechesis, evangelization, social action, community building, spirituality, liturgy, guidance, enablement and advocacy.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Collaborates with Faith Formation team, staff and consultative bodies in implementing the mission of the parish.
  • Assures the development of programs, experiences and activities for middle and high school youth that foster spiritual formation and growth. This should include but not be limited to retreats, faith formation sessions, social activity, recreation, athletics, outreach, youth-oriented liturgies and community service opportunities.

Recruits, enables, directs, trains and supervises catechists, volunteers and other personnel for faith formation experiences for middle and high school youth. Collaborates with teachers in Catholic elementary and high school in developing and implementing youth ministry opportunities.
  • Coordinates evangelization outreach programs to youth.
  • Assures the development of programs and activities for youth that foster spiritual formation.
  • Coordinates efforts to identify and involve youth in the life of the faith community.
  • Serves as staff to parish youth core team or council
  • Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required for this ministry through regular updating, reading, participation in workshops and conventions. Participate in local, regional, and national professional organizations as approved and appropriate.

 Preferred Education and Experience

  • Some experience ( volunteer or paid) in education or catechesis
  • Strong work ethic
  • Associate, Bachelor or equivalent experience

ministry plan that is tailored to the teens . Work closely with the Coordinator of Student Ministry to
ensure alignment in program goals and execution. Develop, train, and resource all team members (Jr. High, Youth
Ministry, Young Adult) to create a cohesive team. Over see Teen OCIA and accompany teens and their families on
the journey to receiving their sacrament s and beyond. Collaborate with Evangelization Coordinator to implement
Youth Alpha for teens and young adults. Over see annual trip to Steubenville Youth Conference.
Foster the growth of personal faith and community among the
leaders through regular team investment meetings . Develop initiatives to involve student’s families in parish life,
fostering a holistic community experience. (Needs to be at
ease with social interactions any setting). Bridge connections with the parish and Yorkville community.

QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree or equivalent (in years of experience in this field) and experience with Youth Ministry and Curriculum. Knowledge of Catholic faith and able to articulate personal faith experiences and stories that inspire and guide other s in their spiritual journey. A level of social maturity that can accurately represent the parish
and Faith Formation team. Willingness to give first fruits to the ministry. Basic knowledge of office equipment and software/database programs and familiar with social media.
